My monogrammed bar cart:
Of course it didn't always look that way. Here's the story:
Last week I stopped by my favorite haunt, Paiges Thieves Market, and found a utility cart sitting out on the front porch. It was covered in dust and had obviously been sitting out there for awhile because the price tag had faded in the sun. I asked about it and was told it was probably a utility cart from the 1940's. The asking price? $15. It was in my car less then 5 minutes later.

The asking price? $15. It was in my car less then 5 minutes later.
A quick trip to the craft store to gather some supplies and I was ready to get to work.
I gave the entire cart a good wash and then covered the legs with painters tape because I liked the chrome . I covered the rest of it with a coat of white paint.
After letting the paint dry, I taped the top of with painters tape.
I knew I wanted to place a monogram on top of the tray so I turned a plastic bowl upside down, placed it in the center of the tray and sprayed around it with an ivy green color.
I removed the the bowl and had a perfect circle in the center
Next I printed up a large "K" and cut it out so that it would create a stencil
After filling the K in with my coral color, I put the bowl back on top and traced around my circle in a midnight blue paint color. I then used some white paint to clean up the center and sprayed the entire top with a clear coat protective spray.
I had this idea that I wanted a place for a bar towel on the side. Normally, when it comes to drilling/installing I would have Eric handle it but, I decided I could tackle this. So after a quick trip to Lowes for a handle and a drill bit that would go through metal, I got to work.
Not gonna lie, I was a little nervous this wouldn't go so well. There's a reason Eric handles the drilling in our family.
One hole down...
Success!
And with that my bar cart was ready for its new home, the screened porch.
Perfect for a party
And holding all our bar essentials
(Did I mention I happen to love all things monogrammed? These swizzle sticks are leftover from our wedding)
The bar towel bar (there must be a better name for that...) looks pretty cute too
So there you have it, my new perfectly preppy bar cart
Happy hour anyone?

I love that idea!!! Super cute!!!
