Then, after seeing images from a gorgeous Mexican inspired rehearsal dinner, I decided to also use my mint in another, way; floral arrangements.
The original inspiration used anemones and mint in old cans and soda bottles. I used it mixed with tulips and yellow freesia in a mason jar tied with raffia.
Not only does the mint add great color and texture but it also smells great.
The funny thing is that the mint I thought I'd only be using for one salad has now become my favorite herb and I've already cut back and used the entire plant (good thing new leaves are already starting to appear!)

Very pretty! I also love mint in a mojito!
ReplyDeleteit looks beautiful and i am sure smells wonderful, too!
ReplyDeleteLooks so pretty!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea. We just moved into a new to us house, and to our surprise, we've found that we have a massive mint-as-a-weed problem. Well, we have a weed problem in general, 'cause the house was empty for several months, but the mint was a surprise! It's everywhere. I will definitely try it in flower arranging now!
ReplyDeleteLove the idea! Your arrangement is colorful and fresh!
ReplyDeleteThat is so awesome to find all sorts of new uses for something you can grow yourself! I love that! Especially because I'm pretty sure I physically *CAN'T* grow anything...I kill all green things! (c:
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I was really tempted to grow mint in our garden this year.
ReplyDeleteI would of never thought of mint in my flower arrangements-you are genius :) Thanks for sharing! I grew mint a few years ago in my front yard (side yard) and it took over. I swore I would never grow it again. However, in a container pot would work perfect = clippings for inside! Thanks again for a great idea!
